Yemenia Airways to Resume Vital Flights to Egypt and India

Yemenia Airways will resume commercial flights from the capital, Sanaa, to Egypt and India, with the first flights taking off on Sunday evening, reported the state news agency SABA of Yemen.

Yemenia will offer daily round-trip operations to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and two weekly operations to India. It forms part of a broader agreement struck by Saudi Arabia with Yemen, meant to help calm tension in a decade-long Yemen civil war.

It also provides for the reversal of recent measures against banks by both parties, the reinstatement of flights by Yemenia Airways between Sanaa and Jordan, and the launch of services to Cairo and India. The conflict, which began in March 2015, has decreased over the past two years in Yemen. Flights between Sanaa and Cairo were suspended since late 2016.
