Sunjae Sharma Managing Director of Hyatt Appointed as Chairperson of ASSOCHAM’s National Council on Travel and Tourism
The Managing Director for India and Southwest Asia at Hyatt, Sunjae Sharma, has been named Chairperson of the ASSOCHAM National Council on Travel and Tourism for 2024. Sharma will collaborate with ASSOCHAM to tackle the industry's key challenges and promote its growth, contributing to the development of a more robust and resilient travel and tourism sector.
With over thirty years of experience in hospitality, Sharma’s appointment signifies an important moment for ASSOCHAM as it continues to shape India’s growth in this field. He will be instrumental in advancing ASSOCHAM’s policy initiatives and strengthening its role as a leading tourism and hospitality industry knowledge hub.

A key figure in the development of India’s hospitality sector, Sharma is also part of the Economic Times Leadership Council and the India CEO Forum under the IMA India chapter. At ASSOCHAM, he will head the National Council on Travel and Tourism until the conclusion of President Sanjay Nayar’s term, with a focus on shaping industry policies and promoting innovative approaches to address the changing demands of the travel and tourism sector.
