SLC International Soars To New Heights: Ranked 1st in the US and 8th Worldwide
Salt Lake City International Airport ranked eighth in the world and first in the United States for airport excellence, thereby upholding a commitment to innovation and excellent service in the aviation industry.
Since the inauguration of The New SLC Phase 1, the airport has continued to add services and amenities, raising a high standard in the aviation world. The third phase of the rebuild project is planned to open on 22 October 2024, and the fourth phase in 2025 and 2026, respectively, for the continuous advancement of the passenger travel experience.
“We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition,” said Nancy Volmer, director of communication and marketing, Salt Lake City International Airport. “This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire airport team and our commitment to continually enhancing the travel experience. We are excited about the final phase of building a brand-new airport and look forward to welcoming travellers from around the world to experience the best that SLC has to offer.”
The airport combines harmoniously modern design, state-of-the-art technology, and carefully chosen amenities that guarantee an inviting experience in equal measure for leisure and business travellers.
“The new airport is continually recognised as having one of the best concession programs in the country, which we have worked hard to achieve,” said Bill Wyatt, Executive Director of the Salt Lake City Department of Airports. “In keeping with the theme of The New SLC, many of the brands and concepts selected are Utah-based to highlight the unique flavour of the state.”
On top of that, SLC has just announced the final selection of 12 new restaurants and retail shops for The New SLC Phase 4. All the new concessions will be the final elements of The New SLC Redevelopment Programme, which elevates the airport’s offerings even higher. The expansion involves the 16-gate extension of Concourse B to the east, which will be instrumental in maximising the capacity and load-handling capabilities of the SLC as it moves ahead with its sterling record in handling passengers.
