Puducherry Spreads its Charm at the Bengaluru Roadshow
The Department of Tourism, Government of Puducherry, conducted a roadshow in Bengaluru on 26 July 2024. The aim of the program was to project Puducherry as one of the most preferred tourist destinations in India. Scenic spots and other unique features were presented to travel agents, tour operators, media persons, and travel trade partners based in Bengaluru so that they would have an opportunity to study and explore the various attractions that Puducherry has in store.
Dr Jayanta Kumar Ray, IAS, Secretary to Government of Puducherry– headed the delegation. The current postholder as the Director of Tourism and Managing Director of the Puducherry Tourism Development Corporation is Shri K. Muralidharan. Shri K. Lakshminarayanan, Hon’ble Tourism Minister of Puducherry, guided it.
As did leading media persons, all the important delegates from the travel trade industry in Karnataka attended the roadshow. Highlights of the charm and mystique of Puducherry were portrayed through a series of networking sessions, presentations, and cultural programs that would recognise destination differentiators to take Puducherry to a new set-in front of the travel and trade fraternity.
Wedged between Tamil Nadu, Puducherry is one of India’s eight Union Territories and is quite famous for its blend of French colonial architecture with Indian sensibilities. This former French colony brings up a much more engaging getaway with its French cuisine, beach activities, and sparkling scuba diving experiences on the East Coast.
