Mugdha Sinha Becomes Director General of Tourism

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has entrusted Mugdha Sinha as the new Director General of Tourism. An IAS officer from the 1999 batch belonging to the Rajasthan cadre, Sinha assumes the charge after her predecessor, Manisha Saxena's departure. According to an official circular, her appointment was made possible by temporarily upgrading a vacant post in the Department.

Mugdha Sinha will bring over two decades of rich experience to her new role. Her distinguished career spans significant contributions to governance, policy formulation, and international trade negotiations. Her expertise and accomplishments place her on a high pedestal in her area of expertise.

Before this appointment, Sinha was the Joint Secretary to the Ministry of Culture, where she built a wealth of experience in managing cultural policies and initiatives. Her experience across various ministries has given her vast exposure to governmental functions and trade relations. This fact would be useful in her new role as DG of Tourism.
