Maldivian Elevates Accessibility Through Amadeus GDS Partnership

Maldivian has made another quantum leap in its distribution network by entering into a strategic agreement with Amadeus' global distribution system. This further assures Maldivian's commitment to enhancing travel access and convenience for its valued trade partners and customers.

Starting 25 July 2024, Maldivian was filed within the International Air Transport Association’s BSP in the Indian market with Amadeus GDS. In this way, some of the IATA-accredited BSP travel agents in India can issue an e-ticket for the flights without difficulty through Amadeus GDS, by using the Q2-986 ticket plate, with all IATA-accredited BSP travel agent sales effective on 14 August 2024.

BSP agents will get a 3% commission on the basic fare. Maldivian’s GDS Booking Policy and BSP Agents Ticketing Terms and Conditions are downloadable from Maldivian’s website: www.maldivian.aero.

Maldivian offers 13 non-stop weekly services to three destinations in India from its hub at Velana International Airport, MLE, in the Maldives. These include four weekly services to Cochin, five to Thiruvananthapuram, and two to Bengaluru, each operating with A320 equipment. In addition, a pair of weekly services connects northern Maldives’ Hanimaadhoo International Airport with Thiruvananthapuram, operating a Dash8-300. Maldivian offers a full-service product on these routes, and the opening of sales on GDS through participation in the Indian BSP has further facilitated more convenient travel distribution between the two countries. Agents will also get access to Maldivian’s extensive domestic network of 17 airports, thus facilitating the offer of end-to-end travel itineraries ranging from high-end luxury resorts to value-for-money holidays in the Maldives.
