India’s Growing Fascination with Kazakhstan as Tourism Surges 300 per cent and Roadshow Opens New Doors

Kazakh Tourism has seen a near 300 per cent increase in Indian tourist arrivals in the past year. To harness this growing market, the Kazakhstan Tourism Board organised a roadshow in Mumbai, India.

The Kazakhstan Tourism Board delegation was joined by a national tourism industry delegation, with the hope of informing Indian tour operators and important members of the Travel Agents Association of India about the tourism potential of its country and showing off various tour packages to them.

Organised under the Kazakhstan Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the event also had the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in India. As a part of the roadshow, B2B meetings will take place between the Indian and Kazakh tour operators looking to create new opportunities for the entities to boost travel traffic from both countries.

According to this, the number of Indian tourists who visited Kazakhstan exceeded 54,000 by the end of last year. This is in comparison to 19,000 in the year 2022. This reflects a sharp increase in the availability of daily direct flights between the two countries, the introduction of a 14-day visa-free regime for Indian citizens in 2022, and the increased popularity of Kazakhstan as a travel destination among Indians.

This year, Kazakhstan has taken the award of the best-favoured MICE destination among Indian business travellers for 2023-2024.
