GNTO India Highlights Berlin’s Dynamic Charm at an Exclusive Event in Mumbai

The German National Tourist Office (GNTO) in India, in partnership with Visit Berlin, organised an exclusive press gathering at AER, one of Mumbai's most fashionable and lively spots. The evening was dedicated to showcasing Germany as a top travel destination, with a special focus on Berlin's rich culture and dynamic attractions tailored for Indian travellers. Guests enjoyed a taste of traditional German cuisine, exploring local flavours.

The event drew a remarkable audience, including notable figures from the media, influencers, social media personalities, content creators and leaders from Mumbai’s travel industry. Burkhard Kieker, CEO of Visit Berlin and Ralf Ostendorf, Director of Market & Media Relations, led engaging presentations, reporting a significant rise in Indian visitors to Berlin. Between January and July 2024, Indian tourists accounted for 59,800 overnight stays in the city, reflecting an impressive 25 per cent increase from the previous year.

“Germany has a wealth of experiences awaiting Indian travellers. From vibrant cities to stunning landscapes, Germany as a travel destination offers an unparalleled blend of culture, history and entertainment,” said Romit Theophilus, Director, the German National Tourist Office, India.

This successful event paves the way for GNTO India’s upcoming four-city roadshow in November, during which Visit Berlin will collaborate with other German partners to connect with travel agents across India.
