Air India Bolsters US Flights With Refreshed Fleet

Air India will manifold its refreshed fleet, under which 60 per cent of the airline's flights to the US in the coming days will boast upgraded or brand-new interiors. The airline further said that it will introduce its flagship Airbus A350 aircraft on the Delhi-New York JFK route from November 1 and on the Delhi-Newark route from January 2, 2025.

In an announcement just made, Air India has confirmed that not only these routes will induct the A350, but also the carrier’s Premium Economy class with the following features: There will be 24 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration that allows passengers to reserve in a separate and fancier cabin with legroom and other enhancements.

The business class will be fitted with 28 private suites, each of which is equipped with a full-flat bed in the 1-2-1 configuration. Suites have direct aisle access, sliding doors for privacy, and personal wardrobe space. The economy class has a spacious 264-seat configuration in a 3-4-3 layout.

There will be over 2,200 hours of entertainment content from around the world. All seats across cabins will be equipped with the latest generation Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system and HD screens.
The A350 flights will also introduce Air India’s new signature soft products and guest enhancements unveiled earlier this year. These include new chinaware, tableware, and glassware and feature updated bedding and amenity kits for Business and Premium Economy guests, designed by Ferragamo and Tumi, respectively.
