Affordable Air Travel Takes Centre Stage for Union Civil Aviation Minister
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu stated that the Ministry was doing its best to ensure that air tickets were affordable to all.
At a panel discussion here, he noted that the cost of tickets is mainly driven by market dynamics and competitive forces.
Responding to queries, he likened the role of aviation in India to that of the railways, stressing it with an example of the notable rise in the number of airports from 73 to 157. “A fact that is well highlighted with the increase in the number of airports from 73 to 157,” said Naidu.
