ADTOI’s Heartfelt CSR Initiative for the Underprivileged
The Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India recently undertook an initiative to for the under-privileged. This initiative was a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility activity which involved: donating old clothes to marginalised societies and old school books/computers to a school meant for under-privileged children to help upgrade its library.
The initiative was taken by the ADTOI Managing Committee, through its Chairperson of the Women Empowerment & CSR Activities, to collect basic necessities. Members of the ADTOI were contacted for contributions, and the response was overwhelming. Generous donations poured in, reflecting the collective commitment to giving back to society.
Goonj, a frontline NGO, is esteemed for its endless struggle to restore fundamental needs, like clothing, among the most downtrodden sections of society. Therefore, the items collected, from clothes and books to computer systems, were handed over to Goonj, who would ensure they went to those in dire need.
Accompanied by Dalip Gupta, General Secretary, and Neetish Gupta, Member of the Managing Committee, Geeta Maheshwari, Chairperson of CSR Activities at ADTOI, visited Goonj to deliver all the donated materials personally. In fact, realising the immediate requirements of the people in flood-affected areas, they also contributed rice, which would come in handy in providing relief to them.
The ADTOI initiative thus resonates with its social responsibility, community, and collective action. They have provided many people with hope when they are at a loose end, proving that small actions can make big differences.
