New Visa-on-Arrival Facility for Tourists Traveling from Japan, South Korea, and the UAE
The Ministry of Tourism has initiated the process of providing a visa-on-arrival facility to foreign tourists who are duly endorsed in their passports by countries like Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates. This is about tourist, business, conference, or medical visitors who want to come to India.
This new policy allows visitors from these countries to stay in India for up to 60 days with the provision of double entry. Besides, the visa-on-arrival facility shall be available at six designated airports: Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai. The Ministry of Tourism undertakes need-based tourism surveys, research, and feasibility studies. Such efforts become imperative for formulating sound policies and programmes, measuring whether these interventions achieve their aims, and pointing areas of deficiencies.
The E-Visa facility, which, among other things, involves Electronic Travel Authorization, which is extended to nationals of 167 countries, with entry by air and sea through 30 designated international airports and six major seaports.
This plethora of visa options showcases India’s sincerity in developing its tourism industry and facilitating hassle-free journeys for foreign travellers.
