A New Dawn for Dusit Thani Bangkok Hotel

Dusit announced that its newly designed flagship hotel, the Dusit Thani Bangkok, would officially welcome guests on 27 September 2024. This new hotel has been totally rebuilt within the Dusit Central Park mixed-use development plan. Still, it stands proudly on the same prestigious site as its predecessor.

The new and reimagined Dusit Thani Bangkok has reduced its guest rooms from 517 to 257. Designed by André Fu Studio, each has a minimum floor area of 50 square meters with uninterrupted views over Lumpini Park. Among other facilities are a spa, ten restaurants and bars, and 5,000 square meters of meeting and event space.
The stylised return of a golden spire, this time integrated into a new structure three times bigger in volume as compared to the original, will appeal to all the guests. The hotel will be complemented by Dusit Central Park, Dusit Residences, and Dusit Parkside residences; an office tower; a high-end retail centre; and an 11,200 square meter Roof Park, all opening in 2025.

“For more than half a century, the original Dusit Thani Bangkok was an endearing landmark and a true ambassador of Thai Hospitality for international guests as well,” said Khun Suphajee Suthumpun, Group CEO of Dusit International. “When the decision was made to embark on its re-imagination, we were committed to honouring that legacy with a present that will even exceed the expectations of today’s sophisticated guest.”. This called for the sensitive retention of components from the original hotel with a fresh, modern design. In doing so, it remained true to Dusit’s founder, Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui, and owner, Mr. Chanin Donavanik’s vision: Thai culture, art, and gracious service were expressed in such a way that they would be relevant for the modern traveller and their changing tastes. “Sustainability is something at the heart of Dusit, and is carried through into the new design and the hotel operations. At the end of the day, we are talking about an exceptional guest experience that protects the warmth and service which has always been associated with the Dusit Thani name.”
