Maldives Simplifies Travel: Say Goodbye to Outbound Declaration Forms
Island nation Maldives has now relaxed the requirement of filling out the 'Travel Declaration' form for all outbound travellers. As per the order issued by the Controller General of Maldives Immigration, Mohamed Shamaan Waheed, the relaxation will come into effect from August 15, 2024. This has been suggested as part of improving travel efficiency and convenience.
The elimination of this administrative chore will certainly smoothen the departure, which, in the end of the day, leaves not too much time for being ready to travel; it actually makes everything convenient for the passenger. Especially, the latter will be really happy with a smoother transition through the airport for frequent travellers or businesspeople.
Although the ‘Traveller Declaration’ form has been abolished for persons exiting the Maldives, all arriving passengers would continue to undertake the form and provide the completed form 96 hours prior to arrival in the country. In addition, all other security and immigration checks would be carried out as normal to secure a safe and secure environment for all concerned.
This updating is in line with the many initiatives that Maldives is now undertaking to solidify its position as one of the world’s leading tourist destinations, exuding warm hospitality and efficiency.
